Panasonic HS700k Camcorder Review
The people at Panasonic have done a phenomenal job in terms of quality as they are setting the bar for other companies to catch up with.
Most notable in this year’s model is the advancement to progressive recording (at 60fps). Most conventional HD camcorders on the market today used an interlaced image to create the video. This means that two images are used in combination. The problem with this is that if the camcorder is moving at all, or subjects being filmed are moving fast, the camcorder will return a blurred image with “odd” edges that distort the overall video footage.
So, you have to ask yourself “If I’m spending $1,000 on an HD camcorder and footage is ruined whenever I move the camcorder, what’s the point?”. Although there has never been any mass criticism about interlaced video, Panasonic noted this concern and what I like to call a “fault” and came through with a perfect solution.
Not only will the HS700k not return blurry footage when the camcorder is being moved, but each image will be like a still photo. This is a phenomenal achievement as it’s always a huge pain scanning through video to find a perfect frame to take a screen shot.
